They say that clay has a memory, and when I work with it I really feel this in the uniqueness that each piece insists upon and on the individual characteristics that want to come through. It is like each piece has its own story to tell, of the earth from which it was dug, of the fires through which it emerges and of the water and air it will hold.
Working with clay it was just natural that I would make sacred bowls as gifts for my friends with sacred marks and personalised blessings and affirmations for their altars. The organic personality of the clay itself is what makes them magic,their beauty, like humans, like art, through their imperfections- perfectly flawed.
